GETTING IT DONE IN TIME: PROCRASTINATION
In all honesty to yourself and the process you're about to embark on, you know that the biggest problem you are facing with time management is procrastination. Or maybe you just don't see it as such. How many times have you rescheduled appointments or delayed actions just because you felt you had enough time to catch up? How many deadlines have you missed or barely met up with because you kept promising that you would do it 'tomorrow'.
There's a popular saying that goes 'Tomorrow never comes' and this is true. Tomorrow is not a definite time, by the next day, there's another tomorrow to hide under and this just goes on and on till you are floundering for time to get things done.
Okay, maybe you get lucky a couple of times and you actually pull through with the deadline after weeks, days or hours of procrastination. Regardless, the point remains that you lack proper time management skills and sooner or later it will have negative effects on your personal life and career.
Time management is an essential work ethic and if you don't begin to let go of the vices you hold on to, like procrastination, you may have to let go of several opportunities.
Procrastination may help you get things done on time, but it won't help you get them done in time.
Yes, there is a difference— we'll get to that in the next post. Same place, same time.
