Lagos is beautiful and Chaotic all at the same time......

Hi Everyone,

This is a Brand New Week and I hope this week  brings nothing but GREATNESS to everyone of us!

So, I would be giving us a brief history about the City - Lagos. I know Lagos means different things to different people. For me, it’s the City filled with lots of ‘paper-chasing’, Yellow cabs and buses, Owanbe’s for the Culture.

Lagos is beautiful and Chaotic all at the same time.

Why did I choose to write a brief history and fun facts about Lagos? Why not? It is arguably the most economically important State of the Country (According to Wikipedia). It is a major financial centre and would be the fifth largest economy in Africa, if it were a country. Amazing, right ?

Lagos’ initial name was EKO which referred mainly to the Island, before the Portuguese name of LAGOS was adopted. The first to settle in Lagos are the AWORI’s, they are hunters and fishermen who had come from Ile-Ife to the coast.
The name EKO is either from the Yoruba word “Òkó” (Cassava Farm) or “Èkó” (War Camp). - Wikipedia.org
